Paul Griffin Named Joseph C. Mello Chair

Paul Griffin will be returning to ISyE as the Joseph C. Mello Chair, starting January 2015. The Joseph C. Mello Chair was created through an endowment established by Joseph Mello, IE 1980, to support the work of an outstanding ISyE faculty member whose work focuses on health care delivery operations.

“We are delighted to have Paul back with us. With his expertise in health and supply chain systems, Paul will be a great asset as we continue to expand our reach to improve health care delivery operations,” said Jane Ammons, ISyE School Chair

Griffin is coming back to ISyE after spending the past five years as the Peter and Angela Dal Pezzo Department Head Chair of the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Penn State.  Previously, he served on the Georgia Tech ISyE faculty for 21 years, since 1988.

Griffin’s research interests are in health and supply chain systems. His current research activities have focused on cost-effectiveness modeling of public health interventions, health logistics, health access and economic modeling, and supply chain coordination and control including pricing and contracting mechanisms.
